HYPNOTHERAPY FOR GRIEF, LOSS AND BEREAVEMENT

About Grief, Loss and Bereavement

Grieving is a natural process which enables us to gradually come to terms with the loss of a loved one, adapt to the change in our lives and begin moving forward again.

People also experience grief with the loss of an unborn child, when a pet dies and the breakdown of a relationship. Whatever the reason, the sense of bereavement is no less painful for the person experiencing it.

People must be allowed to acknowledge and experience grief for a period of time as this allows us to deal with our emotions and heal properly. Usually people can do this with the support of friends and family, however, if someone is unable to go through this important process or it becomes overly prolongued, then they or family and friends of the person may wish to seek help.

When Happens with Grief, Loss or Bereavement?

Everyone grieves in different ways, but may find themselves experiencing some or all of these different stages at different times during the grieving process:-

  • numbness
  • disbelief
  • denial
  • shock
  • intense sadness
  • anger
  • guilt
  • acceptance

Sometimes the grief can completely overwhelm a bereaved person and they find they are unable to deal with it,which can result in:-

  • suppressed grief causing problems in other areas of the person's life
  • prolongued grieving long after they feel they should have let go
  • the person becoming incapacitated, unable to carry out normal day-to-day-tasks
  • the person shutting themselves off from the world

Why choose Hypnotherapy for Grief, Loss or Bereavement?

When underlying issues interrupt this natural process you may either find yourself unable to grieve or else experience prolonged grieving long after you feel you should have let go.

Either way, hypnosis and hypnotherapy can help you complete your natural grief process by unblocking whatever thoughts or feelings are preventing this from happening naturally.

You will then experience a huge sense of release and relief and be able to put your thoughts and feelings back into a proper perspective.

You will still have your memories - but they will be less charged with painful feelings, allowing you to be able to talk openly, should you wish, without the fear of being overcome by gushing emotions.

This is not about forgetting - more about healing and if you feel that you are ready to heal your emotional wounds then now is probably the best time to do it.
